SAND MINING is a lucrative activity along the Nyamwamba River basin and many locals earn a living from carrying on that activity.
There is plenty of sand deposits on the Nyamwamba River banks and basin in general, sand oftenly exist with small and bigger River stones which are also sold to aid in concrete making, decorating houses, ornamental designs and the bigger stones are widely used to create stable building foundation, soak pits, creating water wells or ponds to mention but afew.
