Fixing gutters at the Kasese Humanist School Rukoki

Old roof gutters replaced with new gutters and two receiving pipes leading to the water storage tank fixed.

This means more  rain water 💧  will be collected.

I am also uplifting some two concrete water storage tanks I built several months ago and I have just added taps at the bases to act as water outlets.

The rain harvested water is used for:

Bathing 🛁

Washing clothes

Cleaning toilets and latrine.

Watering crops or gardens

Cleaning as in mopping Classrooms.

Attached are some images:

More matooke suckers planted at our school farm

Fresh Banana suckers

Today at the Kasese Humanist school Muhokya,  we planted 100 more Banana suckers sourced from Bwera.

These will provide matooke to feed the Kasese Humanist Orphans under my care and it's part of my food security project initiatives.  The earlier planted shoots several weeks back are steadily growing.

Essential items offered to our needy children

Shopping done for most children under my care. The Kasese Humanist Orphans comprise of scores of vulnerable children,  lucky ones have sponsors, others don't have but I try as much ensure these children keep in school and try their luck in education.

A sample of some of the items to dish out is below. Simple things but very essential to an average learner.

Basic school items

assorted essential items

pens

Education is the best weapon we can use to change the world.

Alongside these items we also do offer medical attention in terms of first aid, school uniforms,  mattresses,  weddings like bedsheets, towels, shoes and clothes.

Nursery/primary school uniform

Nursery/primary school sportswear

All these are possible when financial resources are within our reach and on some occasions individual child sponsors do specifically send funds or gifts directly to their sponsored children  and we welcome this as well.

Success story from the child sponsorship program

 Success story

One of our old girl child pupils at Kasese Humanist School by the names Tina namudu is currently enrolled at VIRIKA SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY.

She is a product of the child sponsorship program, a campaign courtesy of the Kasese Humanist Orphans that ensures less fortunate, brilliant orphaned children get the care and assistance to keep in school.

Tina pictured in her uniform

I salute and appreciate those who stand with us as we achieve this. Yes together we can make a difference in people's lives.

Below is her old school photo when she was still in primary school at the Kasese Humanist School,  by then in the rented buildings at the defunct Kasese Railway station.

Skilling young people empowers them to learn something extra

As per the new secondary school curriculum, students are more practical as possible.

Today I witnessed a student on a cookery project of making pancakes 🥞.

Pancakes being made

I took a taste on some and they were very yummy and that's a good skill already learnt and mastered.

Other students have made different practical projects on campus like tree planting, craft making, briquettes,  making mandazi, door mats ,simple furniture to mention but afew.

Below are some other pictures 📸 of the pancakes making project.

Bookshelves keeps files,books,documents in order

I have been making bookshelves to fit in different offices at Municipal High Humanist School and at Kasese Humanist School, Rukoki.

In my bookshelf making spree, I have added another one at an  office created at our Rukoki aimed to streamline our school operations.

The office will be handling different tasks as they deem fit in our efforts of ensuring we accomplish our missions and objectives and ofcourse putting self reliance and sustainability in action.

We have came a long way and we are determined to continue strengthening our successes and design mechanisms on solving our challenges.
