Nyakiyumbu Widows receives Material and tokens of Appreciation

On Thursday 19th February 2015, I visited the Nyakiyumbu Widows Association and their Orphanage school where I was delivering items that were donated by the Embrace Global Change charity that comprised of a computer set, a microscope meant for the Embrace Global Change laboratory and some medicines. All these items benefit the widows and the orphans studying at the Nyakiyumbu Widows Orphanage School. As I was delivering the items, I moved with Mr. Ndyanabo David, and The Pellissier Science Laboratory Technician. We set off for Nyakiyumbu at 2:00 PM and by 3:20, we were already at the Nyakiyumbu Widows Orphanage School. At the school, we were received by the School Head Teacher Ms Perezi who gave us the opportunity to say hello to the children. We found a section of children at the school who only comprised of Primary 3 class. The school runs 3 classes: Nursery Class, P.1, P.2 and P.3. Total enrollment at the school was at 141. We were impressed with their formation of an active School Management Committee and a Parents Teachers Association to ensure all school efforts and plans move in the right direction. We also offered some tips on how they can go about improving on the academics, general being of their school.
The children, School staff and the Widows group appreciated the donations and were so thankful to Biba Kavass of Embrace Global Change, Hank Pellissier for mediating and contributing some support that went towards feeding the children at the school and Bwambale Robert, The gentleman behind the coordination effort. There was also delivery of tokens of appreciations to the School Director and Staffs at the Nyakiyumbu Orphanage School where close to 100$ was donated courtesy of Hank Pellissier. Attached are some of the images of the event.
