A major step towards improved hygiene, better student welfare, and environmental sustainability
Kasese Humanist School Muhokya, also known as Bizoha, is pleased to announce the successful completion of the installation of its solar water heating system. This important achievement marks another milestone in our commitment to improving the welfare of our students and staff while promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions within our school community.
The project has been made possible through the generous financial contributions of donors whose support has turned this valuable initiative into reality. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to these kind supporters for investing in the well-being of our children and helping us create a healthier and more comfortable learning environment.

We also sincerely thank the Uganda Humanist Schools Trust (UHST) for identifying Kasese Humanist School Muhokya as a beneficiary of this important initiative. Your continued commitment to supporting humanist education in Uganda is making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and the communities we serve.
Improving Hygiene and Student Welfare
Access to warm water is an important part of maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation, particularly in a school environment where many children live, study, eat, and interact daily.

With the new solar water heating system in place, students and staff will have improved access to warm water for personal hygiene, cleaning, and other essential daily activities. The system will also support improved sanitation practices in the school kitchen, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment for preparing meals.
We believe that providing better facilities is an essential part of caring for our students and ensuring that their school experience extends beyond classroom learning.
Reducing Firewood Consumption and Operational Costs
Previously, heating water using firewood placed an additional demand on the school's resources. With the introduction of solar water heating, we expect to reduce the amount of firewood required for heating water, helping lower operational expenses and easing the pressure on our limited budget.

The savings generated can potentially be redirected towards other pressing educational needs, including learning materials, feeding, staff support, and the general welfare of our students.
By harnessing the abundant energy of the sun, the school is embracing a practical and sustainable solution that can provide long-term benefits.
Promoting Environmental Sustainability
As a school that values science, reason, and evidence-based solutions, we recognise the importance of applying scientific knowledge to address everyday challenges.
Solar water heating demonstrates how renewable energy can improve people's lives while reducing dependence on firewood. By lowering firewood consumption, the system can also help reduce pressure on trees and contribute to environmental conservation.
This installation provides a practical example of how science and technology can be used to improve living conditions, manage resources responsibly, and build a more sustainable future.
It also offers an opportunity for students to appreciate the real-life applications of renewable energy and understand the importance of embracing environmentally responsible technologies.
Gratitude to Our Partners and Supporters
At Kasese Humanist School Muhokya, we believe that meaningful progress is achieved through cooperation, generosity, and a shared commitment to human welfare.
We are deeply grateful to the donors who contributed financial resources towards this project. Your generosity has helped provide a valuable facility that will benefit our school community for years to come.
Our sincere appreciation also goes to Uganda Humanist Schools Trust for its continued efforts to strengthen humanist schools and improve educational conditions for children in Uganda.
This achievement reminds us that when compassionate people and committed organisations work together, they can create lasting improvements in the lives of children who need them most.
Building a Better Future Through Science and Humanity
The completion of the solar water heating system at Kasese Humanist School Muhokya is more than an infrastructure improvement. It is an investment in student welfare, better hygiene, environmental responsibility, and the sustainable development of our school.
We remain committed to providing an educational environment where children can learn, grow, think critically, and develop the knowledge and skills they need to build better futures for themselves and their communities.
With Science, we can progress!
Thank you to our generous donors and Uganda Humanist Schools Trust for standing with Kasese Humanist School Muhokya and helping us turn this vision into reality.
