Transforming Learning Spaces, creating vocational skills hub

Creating a Vocational Skilling Hub at Kasese Humanist School

Kasese Humanist School is taken a forward-thinking step by renovating and improving an existing building to establish a vocational skilling hub. 

This initiative reflects the school’s commitment to equipping students with practical, hands-on skills that go beyond traditional classroom learning.

The facelift of school infrastructure will convert ordinary classrooms into vibrant training spaces designed for skill development. Improved roofing, flooring, lighting, and ventilation will create a safe and conducive learning environment. 

These upgraded spaces will host vocational programs such as carpentry, tailoring, agriculture and tree nurseries, fine art, arts and crafts, shoe making , floor tiling skills, making blocks, pavers and some building and construction skills. 

This transformation is more than just physical improvement—it is an investment in the future of students. By gaining practical skills, learners will be better prepared for employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. 

The vocational hub will bridge the gap between academic education and real-world application, empowering students to become productive members of their communities.

In addition, the hub will open opportunities for community engagement, partnerships, and income-generating activities. Students will not only learn but also produce, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to local development.

Kasese Humanist School continues to demonstrate that education should be both thoughtful and practical—preparing young people not just to pass exams, but to thrive in life.

Our primary schools and the secondary school section will be beneficiaries of this program,  our dream is to create more job creators, innovators, change makers and visionaries.

Participating in environmental cleaning initiatives at Kasese Municipal High Humanist School brings many important benefits to students, the school, and the wider community:

Highlights from the just concluded Science Week Events

 🌟 Highlights from Science Week

Kasese Municipal High Humanist School

Science Week was an exciting and engaging event that brought learning to life through practical activities, teamwork, and innovation.

The event was Sponsored by The Scientific Temper Charity based in Germany in conjunction with Kasese Humanist School, Uganda 🇺🇬,  the implementing school was the secondary wing; Kasese Municipal High Humanist School  based in Rukoki, Kasese Municipality. 

🔬 Hands-On Experiments

Students conducted physics experiments such as determining the refractive index of glass and measuring mass using a metre rule.

Practical learning helped students better understand scientific concepts.

🌱 Agricultural Activities

Learners analyzed soil samples and explored soil types.

Discussions focused on improving crop productivity and sustainable farming.

🧪 Interactive Learning

Students actively participated in group experiments and demonstrations.

Emphasis was placed on observation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

👩‍🔬 Student Engagement

High levels of participation from both lower and upper classes.

Students showed curiosity, creativity, and teamwork throughout the week.

🎤 Leadership & Guidance

Opening remarks were led by the Head of Science, Headteacher, and School Director.

Teachers guided students through experiments and encouraged inquiry-based learning.

Tree planting campaigns at Kasese Humanist School play a vital role in promoting environmental awareness and practical science education. 

Through these activities, students actively participate in restoring and protecting their local environment while gaining hands-on experience in sustainability.

The campaigns help address key challenges such as deforestation, soil erosion, and climate change.

Through these activities, students will have the opportunity to explore scientific ideas, develop problem-solving skills, and strengthen their interest in science and innovation.

Muhokya and Kahendero Humanist Schools receive bicycles

Kasese Humanist School Receives Two Bicycle Donations

Kasese Humanist School has received two bicycles to support school activities and improve mobility for staff. The bicycles will help teachers and administrators move more easily between school campuses and surrounding communities.

Reliable transport is important in supporting school work such as visiting families of students, monitoring sponsored children, and coordinating education programs. These bicycles will help save time and make outreach activities more effective.

Kasese Humanist School is grateful to the generous supporters who made this donation possible. Their support helps strengthen the school’s mission of promoting education, critical thinking, and practical skills for a better future. 

One bicycle have been given to the Muhokya campus while the other has gone to the Kahendero Humanist School.

We thank the donor for this offer and Uganda Humanist Schools Trust for supporting our School project.
